By Plane
Kranjska Gora is easy to reach from three airports placed close to it, that are located no more than 90 minutes away by car. In the first place, Brnik airport in Ljubljana (62 km from Kranjska Gora) receives connections from London, Frankfurt and Vienna on a daily basis, among other cities in Europe; Klagenfurt in Austria (55 km) has services from Berlin, Dusseldorf and Hannover; and Ronchi airport in Trieste, Italy (136 km), welcomes flights from London, Milan and Munich.
By Car
As you leave the air terminal in Ljubljana, go straight, pass a town named Voglje and veer right in road 104. Next, you will reach a roundabout where you must drive along the third exit into E61/A2; around 16 kilometres ahead, take roads E61/ H1, E61/8 and E61/A2. Afterwards get off at the exit for road 201 and go along this track for another 17 kilometres. Once you have passed Belca, the next town is Kranjska Gora: turn left into road 206 and right into Borovška cesta, which is the main artery in town. Go along it till number 93 and when you see Grand Hotel Prisank on your left hand side, get off to collect the keys to the apartment. Vitranc is right behind Hotel Prisank (This journey will take you around 1 hour).
You may also come from across the international borders of Slovenia. If your origin is Italy, get on highway A23 and drive towards Udine-Tarvisio; abandon this track at the exit for Tarvisio and enter Slovenia through the international border crossing "Ratece"; for those travelling from Austria, you must enter Slovenia through the crossing "Korensko Sedlo" or Karavanke tunnel.
By Train
If you are travelling by train, the railway station placed closer to Kranjska Gora is Jesenice, located 20 kilometres from this town. You will find many daily services departing from Ljubljana that take between an hour and one hour 15 minutes to reach this station. Once you arrive in Jesenice, take any of the buses going to Kranjska Gora (it is a 30 minutes trip). |
