 Just to the west of the hotel is Stiegl's Brauwelt, the largest privately-owned brewery in Austria, which includes an intriguing museum exploring the country's long history of beer-making. You can visit the working brewery on a guided tour, where you will be treated to a glass of freshly-tapped Stiegl as part of the admission fee. Towards the old town about a 10 or 15 minute walk from the hotel you will find the Burgmuseum, dating from the baroque era it is an impressive fortress that has a museum charting the 1000 year history of the fort. Near that you can visit the narrow alley of GST ttengasse, it begins at the Anton-Neumayr-Platz and runs along the Mönchsberg to the Klausentor which in the past used to be a town gate |
