The Hotel Dom Henrique provides a four star service with staff speaking English, Portuguese, Spanish and French, and the most fascinating views from its panoramic top floors. On the 17th level, the bar "Anrrique" serves snacks, beers and soft drinks, complimented by the city roofs and million lights visible from such a height: among the specialties, ask for the "cocktail of the month", the Steak Sandwich and the "Francesinha". |
If you feel like having a light lunch, the bar is also open, and on Friday and Saturday, live music is played for your entertainment. The rest of the gastronomy inside the hotel is found on the ground floor, where the "Além-Mar" restaurant is placed. It has a peculiar traditional decoration, with a tiled wall created by a prestigious Portuguese artist, Julio Resende. |
Here, breakfast is served in the mornings: the buffet includes coffee, tea, milk, chocolate, juices, different kinds of breads, croissants, pastries, butter and jam. In addition to this, a choice of cereals and fruits is displayed, along with yoghurt, cold cuts, cheese, scrambled eggs, bacon and some low calories products for those guests on a diet. For the rest of the meals, ask for local dishes such as the coldfish "lageiro" style and the "cozido à portuguesa". |
The Hotel Dom Henrique also features 5 meeting rooms, one of which, called Navegador, is placed on the 18th floor. It can hold banquets for up to 60 people, and meetings, for up to 80. The rest of the conference areas (Dom João, Dom Pedro, Dom Fernando and Dom Duarte) are found on the Mezzanine floor and have a maximum capacity of 40 people. They are all equipped with flip-chart, overhead projectors, access to internet and screen, and they receive daylight. |
For guests on pleasure trips who have not carried a personal computer on their vacations, access to internet is also available outside the rooms: at the Mezzanine floor, there is an internet office with a computer for their use, and the first hour is for free. |

| The Hotel Dom Henrique is pretty well located in the city of Porto, a place that received the influences of Celtics, Romans and Arabs and that gave its name to the country, as Portugal derives from "Portucale", the original name of Porto. Its historical centre is really near the inn, and you cannot miss the cathedral, built in the 12th century and renovated in the 18th, or the Ribeira, the famous waterfront at the river Douro only 10 minutes from the hotel, where you will be delighted by the little seafood restaurants, bars and typical houses. Once you have indulged in the charm of the past, you may enjoy the golf course Estela, 25 kilometres to the south of the hotel, which has a protocol with the Hotel Dom Henrique. Then, at only 2 minutes walking, you will find the main shopping area in the city, and in the surrounding streets, cultural sites such as the Casa da Musica and the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art. |
