The Hotel Dom Manuel I is located on Duque D`Avila Avenue 189, in an area of Lisbon full of open spaces and gardens, conveniently separated from the bustle and traffic of downtown (it is 4 kilometres distance from here, around five minutes). However, you will find two metro stations, bus stops and the central train station at really easy access from the front door, therefore you will be able to reach the sightseeing musts in a few minutes with no need of closing your windows at night to avoid the noise of the city centre. |

By plane:
The Lisbon Airport is at only 6 kilometres from the inn, therefore it will only take you 13 minutes to reach your room if you are travelling by car. Otherwise, taxis can be found right outside the terminal and there are various means of public transport to reach the Hotel Dom Manuel I (bear in mind that the metro lines don`t reach the airport).
By car:
Once you leave the Airport, take the first exit at the roundabout "Praça de Aeroporto". Go along E01/Avenida Marechal Craveiro Lopes/Segunda Circular highway, following the sign that indicates "IC19/Sintra"Segunda Circular/Campo Grande/Eixo Norte-Sul". Take the exit 4 "Camarate/Charneca/Alvalade" and you will enter Lisbon already. Continue along Santos e Castro Avenue towards Alvalade, then take Rúa das Murtas and turn right at Do Brasil Avenue. Turn left into Campo Grande and go along Das Forças Armadas Avenue. Just a few metres after this, turn left into 5 de Outubro Avenue and then right into Duque D`Avila Avenue. As the hotel is located on the left hand of this track, the access will not be so direct from this point, so you will have to turn left into Luís Bívar Avenue, then right into Rúa Pinheiro Chagas and then take again Duque D`Avila Avenue in order to reach the front door. You will find the Dom Manuel I right between the Avila restaurant and Edif 185.
By bus:
The "aerobús" connects the Airport to the centre of Lisbon daily, every 20 minutes; from here, take the metro at Cais do Sodré and change from the Green Line (Linha Verde) to the blue one (Linha Azul) at Baixa-Chiado station. Get off at São Sebastião, which is only 300 metres from the inn.
Meanwhile, the "carris" have 5 lines reaching the Airport. In order to reach the Dom Manuel I, take number 22, which will leave you at Marqués de Pombal roundabout. Here, get on the metro at Marqués de Pombal station and take de Blue Line (Linha Azul), towards Amadora Este: get off at the second station, São Sebastião. From São Sebastião to the front door of the Dom Manuel I, take Praça De Espanha Avenue and turn right into Rúa Marqués de Fronteira, which will lead you to Duque D`Avila Avenue.
By car:
In order to reach the hotel from the centre of Lisboa by car, take Rua Da Prata at Praça de Comercio, and before entering a roundabout turn left. A few metres afterwards, take the first street on your right, Praça Dom Pedro IV till you reach Liberdade Avenue. Go along this important track and at the roundabout of Marqués de Pombal, turn right into Fontes Pereira de Melo Avenue, and then left into Antonio Augusto de Aguiar Avenue. Once you pass the metro station São Sebastião on your left, turn right into Duque D`Avila Avenue, cross Rúa Dr. Nicolau Bettencourt and Rúa do Marqués de Sa Bandeira and you will reach the hotel.
