 The area of Palmela is a well know wine growing region near Setúbal, 40 km south of Lisbon in Portugal. The castle has a long history and dates back some 500 years; it has a high tower, bulwarks, governors house and soldiers quarters and is one of the best architectural fortresses that is especially known for its location and amazing views. Inside the castles wall is the Santa Maria church which is very old and is now ruins but does retain Renaissance edification. |
 The rooms and suites which each have an individual view of different parts of the surrounding area. The rooms are all fully equipped and well presented. There is a restaurant that offers some specialist dishes and bars which comfortable lounge areas. There are also three multi functional and with different capacities banqueting rooms for occasions such as weddings. |
