By Plane
Lisbon International Airport, Portela (LIS) is approximately a driving time of 30 minutes and a distance of 41 kilometers or 25 miles so rent a car and follow as below. The airport accepts international flights from all the major airports and internal flights also. It is linked to the Metro system via a shuttle bus service to Cais do Sodré and the over ground Oriente station is only 1 km away, reachable by taxi. To reach the hotel by train follow the instructions as below.
By Train
To arrive by train you need to use the Sado line which has a stop in Palmela. From the airport use the shuttle bus service to Cais do Sodré and from there you can connect with the Sado line to Palmela via boat. From the station you will need to take a taxi to the hotel. The journey time is between one to two hours and trains leave regularly throughout the day from Cais do Sodré.
By Car
From the airport follow the E1 and exit south continue along the E1/IP7 (34 km) and continue on until exit 4 Palmela. Exit there and join N252 and after 1 km you will arrive in the city centre on the N379. Follow that road called N379 Joao Parrantonio until just before a big roundabout where you turn left immediately before the roundabout and the castle is just in front of you a few hundred metres down the road. There are plenty of sign posts to the castle (Castelo de Palmela) so you can follow them to the hotel. From the south Palmela can be reached using the A2/E1 then the N10 that takes you all the way into Palmela where you follow signs for the castle. From the east follow the A6/E90 until it joins with the N10 that takes you into the centre of Palmela and follow the signs for the castle which is where the hotel is at. |
