The Pousada de Setúbal - São Filipe offers its guests a continental breakfast in the mornings that can be enjoyed on the terrace. The terrace area is situated to the side of the building and offers amazing views of the surrounding area. The terrace has provisions for dinning as it is equipped with ample tables and chairs and it covered with large sun shades to protect you from the burning sun. |
There is a restaurant that offers local specialties and uses the local produce such as the fresh fish caught everyday in the port. Dishes include fish soup, Monkfish and seafood stew, grilled lamb with orange sauce or an original orange pie. There is a dinning room where it can be eaten that is decorated in a modern beige colour with large windows allowing for views or on the terrace area also. |
The hotel also has a bar with a lounge and a small conference centre. Guests also have use of a games room and a snooker table room. The hotel's friendly reception staff is multilingual are happy to offer other services on request of the guest, they can also provide guests with tourist information and advise where to go and what to see in the area as well as how to get there. |

There is a Baroque chapel lined with azulejos (tiles) that relates to the life of St Filipe and this is within the hotels grounds. The local fishing port can provide guests with some shops and some fine dishes that are inspired by the plentiful supply of fresh tasty seafood; this port lies at the bottom of the hill. There is also a fine church Igreja (or church in English) de Jesus which is thought to be the first Manueline building and it has an impressive doorway to admire, pillars that form part of the church were transported from the Arrabida Natural Park which is only 20 km away and has much wildlife and a magnificent granite ridge. First built in the 13th century and then rebuilt in the 16th the church of Santa Maria Garcia and has beautiful 18th century azulejos and is well worth a visit. You can take a boat trip on the Sado estuary where you can see some bottled nosed dolphins a rare treat indeed. There are also many water sport activities to be enjoyed nearby as well as hiking trails and some golf courses all within easy reach of the hotel. |
