By Plane: Munich International is the nearest airport to the Quality Hotel Königshof within Germany. The distance of 126 kilometres can be covered in 1 hour 20 minutes by car, or easily on public transport. Flights from Paris, Italy, Barcelona, London and many other cities within Germany and other European countries arrive here regularly. Notice that the Innsbruck airport is also close to the hotel, as Garmisch-Partenkirchen is placed near the frontier with Austria. It is only 58 kilometres from the inn, a driving time of around 53 minutes.
By Car:
From Munich airport, take the A92/E53 highway, the A9 and the B2R before getting on the A95. Stay on this track for around 70 kilometres, till its end, leaving the towns of Strarnberg and Wolfratshausen behind. As you approach Eschenlohe, continue along the B2/E533 route and you will arrive in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Turn right at Rathauplatz, go along Bahnhofstraße and continue into St. Martin Straße (which locally gets the name of Sankt-Martin-Straße). The Quality Hotel Königshof is on the right hand side, on number 4.
If you arrive at Innsbruck airport, get on the A12/E533 motorway and take the exit 87 to Garmisch. Continue along the B197, cross the frontier into Germany and drive along the B2/E533. After around 24 kilometres, you will arrive in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Just turn left at Rathauplatz, go along Bahnhofstraße and continue into St. Martin Straße.
By Train: From Munich airport, you can get on the superficial train (S-Bahn) number S1 which leads to the main stations in Munich city. At "Laim" stop, you can transfer to "Pasing": here, there are connections reaching Garmisch. Once you arrive in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the Quality Hotel Königshof is really close, even within walking reach: just go along Bahnhofstraße and turn left into Sankt-Martin-Straße. |
